Displacement from attribute?
Moderator: juanjgon
Hi, I’ve created a noise displacement in the point vop in sop and the result is that I have a high poly mesh with good detail. Now I’m trying to have an attribute from that point vop and used it in the shader on the low poly mesh. I really like displacement from point vop but It requires a very dense mesh and based only on points. I’ve used Octane/Redshift for render it. Maybe the only way is that I should bake it? I’m looking for solution based on attributes. Thank you in advance for your hints.

In short: I think that the displacement from a vertex attribute is not possible right now, but you could bake the displacement in a COP node and use this raster image as displacement.
Hope it helps,
