How do I install Octane 4.05-R7 for Cinema 4D R23

I have a perpetual license for Octane I purchased several years ago, so I assume 4.05-R7 is the version I need to be using. I'm putting the c4doctane folder within R23's plugin folder, but no Octane menu is showing up within Cinema 4D. What am I doing wrong?

You need to update your licenses to 2020, to be able to use S22 or R23:

V4 is limited to C4D R21.
