Any news on a version that works with Apple M1 Native?

Hi,
Apple has just released Mac Os 11.1 Big Sur update, and we are almost ready with new PR7 SDK for Big Sur, so it should not be too far away.

Happy Mac GPU Rendering,

Hey,

could you share a rough octanebench score. I read, that it is fast and am currently thinking about getting one but I'd like to have at least an estimate on what to expect rendering whise.

Cheers

Both Standalone PR7 Standalone and c4doctaneX plugins are ready, with the first M1 support!
Enterprise version only for now, Studio, Render-Node, and Demo versions are coming shortly (it takes more time to build for Big Sur/Rosetta2).

Standalone X PR7:

c4doctaneX PR7:

Important: for this build you must be using MacOS 11.1 stable and newer. There were critical driver issues in MacOS 11.0.x which have been resolved in 11.1

PR7 has the first experimental support for Apple M1. You need to install Rosetta when prompted. The denoiser is not currently working on M1.

There is not a version of Octanebench supporting Metal for now, it will arrive with Octane 2021.
For now, it would be nice if M1 users can post some screenshots while rendering with the demo scenes in Standalone:

Hi I've installed PR7 Studio plugin on my M1 Mac, and Cinema now just crashes. I've enabled the app to run via Rosetta, and I've allowed apps to run from "anywhere". I have even disabled SIP (system integrity protection). I have deleted the other lib files which are not for r23. I've placed the plugin-folder in /Applications/Maxon Cinema 4D R23/plugins

Yes, exactly. I've used your link and deleted the unnecessary dlls.
