I get this in the Console…
<<< Render failure detected!!! >>>
Please check render statistics to solve the problem.
Check geometry subdivisons.
Picture viewer uses 'Render' subdivisions. But Live Viewer uses 'Editor' subdivision values.
Try to decrease 'render/editor' subdivison values.

The same scene renders fine without denoising turned on. I hope this can be fixed quickly, because Octane in C4D feels rock solid now!

Hi,
please, open the scene, then go to c4doctane Settings/Other tab, and, at the bottom of the panel, enable all the Log option checkboxes.
Then, load the scene in Live View, then in Picture Viewer, until error message, then reopen c4d, navigate to c4doctane Settings/Other tab, press the Generate log report button, and share the octanelog_report.zip file, thanks.

Please also go to c4doctane settings/devices tab, press the Device Setting button, and share a screenshot of both panels, thanks.
ciao Beppe

This particular scene I was mucking about with OpenVDB explosions. Without denoise on, it rendered fine with no problem (including image sequence to the Picture Viewer).
As soon as I turn on denoising, I get 'Render Failure'. Restarting the LV actually worked, but it then failed to render to the PV – I just get a black screen and render failure.
Here are the settings and the log…

These kind of issues are not related with plugin side. Please share a project with assets for C4D or ORBX if it still happen in standalone. Or C4D project.

Right, did a few tests and this is related to my previous issue of rendering a sequence to the Picture Viewer. I can render a sequence fine if there's no Denoise turned on. But if I turn it on, it only renders the first frame then just keeps 'preparing'. I assume it can't trigger the Denosie function and so it goes into an infinite loop of preparing. It's got to be a plugin issue (what else could it be when I'm rendering a cube!?) and It's totally repeatable.
It's not a plugin related but keep posted. You're using 2020.1.5 plugin's core for OX.Weezer wrote:It must be the plugin: here is a cube on a disc, an Octane Sky and a camera. The moment I enable Denoise in the Camera Tag, I get this…

I mean it should a core issue. First we should reproduce it here to report itWeezer wrote:Sorry, what do you mean? I'm using the Studio version of Octane PR7. Will these issues be resolved with the new core?
