Just replaced my GTX960 with a RTX3070. Updated to the latest versions of Blender Octane and Octane Server - Blender_Octane_Edition_2020.1.5_22.0_xb and OctaneServer_Prime_2020.1.5_22.0_xb.
If I turn on 'Use RTX acceleration' in device preferences the render quits very quickly after around 60 or so samples and I get "CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered" in the Octane Log.
With RTX acceleration turned off it renders fine.
I created a reg entry for TdrLevel 3 and TdrDelay 60s. Didn't help.
I used DDU and made a clean install of latest drivers. Still stops rendering.
I tried earlier drivers but 457.30 are the only ones compatible with RTX3070.
I'm on Windows 10 v1909 with 32GB system ram.
Is this a known bug? Or should I be able to use RTX?
(Also the Denoiser isn't working).
RTX3070 not rendering with RTX acceleration on.

I tried the OctaneBench 2020.1.5
With RTX on I get the following error
OctaneBench error
Benchmark run failed due to:
render engine failure
Geforce RTX 3070 (1): kernel failed CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was
encountered -> failed to wait for event

Nothing from Otoy? Is this the wrong forum? Is it because it's the free version?

Still nothing from Otoy. It's been a month.
Good day, Richard.
Sorry for late reply. Please try DDU and install the latest Studio drivers. Restore GPU to stock clock speeds in case You changed anything and rerun OctaneBench. If it would not work, we'll try to see what's up with Your machine.
The denoiser has been fixed and coming to plugins.
What You are pointing could be RTX related crash that should be solved with driver update. I have 3090 and I noticed few of those crashes in the past but I get less of them lately.
Sinc.

Thanks Tom!
I will use DDU and try the latest drivers later today or tomorrow.
Card isn't overclocked.
Cheers

The problem is that it can literally be anything, starting from Drivers/OS to bad GPU chip/PSU.
1. Download the latest version of GPU-Z, make sure "Ray Rtacing" option is checked.
2. Try other apps (not OTOY) that use RTX to make sure RTX works with your card at all and does not crash either.
3. Try asking in general, not Blender sub-forum if problem persists.

Thanks.
What do I do with GPU-Z? It displays lots of info. Am I looking for something in particular?
Could you suggest some alternative apps that use RTX?
