It would be possible to filter the exported objects to just the ones into the camera field ?
During complex (lot of objects) animation the big part of the job is exporting not rendering.
Some problems:
1. I don't know if there are function in Blender that returns the objects viewed.
2. You are missing the lighting contribution due to filtered objects (could be small or big depending on the scene).
In case 1... not sure you can really do something.
In case 2...well a button can enable/disable this filters.
Thanks.
Filter objects during export
Hi,
if in your scene you have camera moving and objects with reflective material, and suddenly other objects will appear and dissapear in camera view, the reflection will flicker then, won't it?
why not using Selection only, Remove hidden checkboxes ? (blender 2.54)

Yes, I think you're right in general.
It's just because in my special case I would need such a feature. I cannot just hide the object for all the animation long.
But it's not a big problem... thanks anyway.
