Hi sdevdutt41,
please download and run GPU-Z:
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
And share a screenshot from the Graphics Card tab, for all the available Nvidia GPUs, thanks:

Which version of OctaneRender are you trying to use?

I'm having the same problem. But I am using a Mac with an AMD GPU, RX 5700 XT. But Octane Render for C4D says it needs Cuda? But I cannot install Cuda on a mac with AMD gpu... I thought Octane X worked on mac now? I can get the standalone version to work, but C4D version no dice. I'm on Catalina 10.15.7 and R21 of C4D.
Hi Medley,
it means that you have download the Mac CUDA version, instead of the Mac Metal version that works with AMD GPUs under Catalina 10.15.7.
Please, remove the installed version, and download and install OctaneX for C4D PR3.
You can find it by visiting your personal Downloads area:
https://render.otoy.com/account/download_archive.php
You need to select your purchased version from the Select Software pop up:

Then, please go to c4d menu Extensions/Console, (Shift+F10), and share a complete screenshot of the panel, thanks.
Please, also share a screenshot like this one, that shows both the c4doctane directory opened, and the entire installation path, thanks:

Thank you for your help Beppe. Unfortunately I do not have an Octane license so I cannot download from the link you sent. I am trying to demo it and see how good this Mac version works. I also hear it's going to be free for mac users in 2 months. Is there no demo of OctaneX for C4D?

hello. my graphics card benchmarck score is 92.67 and still i geeting that error message. help anyone please.
Hi Beppe,
I responded a few days ago but my response is not posted. Very strange.
I'm trying to use the demo for Octane on Mac with C4D. It appears the only demo is Nvidia CUDA on mac, I'm very confused by this. Cuda on a Mac? Nvidia on a mac? Am I missing something? I have an AMD GPU, I'm on Mac. I have the Metal standalone demo working okay. But for C4D demo, I only see Cuda version available on demo page. Is there no Meal C4D demo? How would one even get Cuda on a Mac to work?
Would love to start using Octane with C4D, been prepping for this for a while now. If I have to purchase I'm fine by that, all the announcements said it'd come with Mac OS in 2021, if that's only standalone, cool, I'll buy. If not, even better. Please let me know how I can get started on this Octane Mac journey. Very excited for it!
Cheers!
