Hi Guys,
This is my first post on the forum and my first time using Octane.
Ive seen some really impressive results and thought i would try it out myself.
I use 3DS Max and had the Scaling issues on import which meant the render showed up with some serious triangular artifacts. On searching the forum i came across the scaling issue and managed to fix it.
But now i have another issue. One object is showing artifacts and i have no idea why. I have unified the normals in max but it still shows. Attached jpeg for you to check it out. The weird thing is that they only show at certain angles and are fine at staright on views. I know its something i have done wrong but i cant put my finger on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Still tinkering with octane but it could become a valuable asset in my pipeline. Hope i can contribute to the community in the future.
Cheers
Uddie
Artifacts I can't get rid of.

Hi Uddie,
in general this is a phong/smooth problem.
you can disable the smooth option of the material assigned to the mesh or reducing the phong value in your host application to get rid of this
