I'm running Cinema 4D S22.123 with Octane PR2 and am getting a crash on quit every time. Anyone else experiencing this?

Mac Pro 2019
Catalina 10.15.17
AMD Radeon Pro Vega II 32 GB
Radeon Pro W5700X

It's probably been noted, but I also get crashes when I solo a node in the Octane material node editor.

Hey everyone what am I doing wrong? Used this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tTLH8wqMYQ
When ever I subdivide object it gets artifacts, no matter C4D native or inside Octane.

Is there an update on when we can expect cross platform network rendering as shown in the GTC presentation for Octane X, so host being a Mac with Octane X and the render node being a Windows PC running 2020.x?
With PR3 being feature complete is this going to be included in the release this week or will it still follow the final release of Big Sur?
Sure would love to run Octane X inside Maya on my Mac with the heavy lifting (IPR / final render) being done on the PC with a couple of RTX 3080/90.

Hi kinedix,
are you using c4d shaders in your Octane materials?
If yes, you need to increase the baking resolution in c4doctane/SettingsC4D Shaders panel.

Is there still a way to join the closed beta whitelist for Big Sur? For the metal drivers I need?

I have an Apple Dev account, Mac Pro w/ AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16 GB running Big Sur Version 11 Beta.

I really miss using my Octane in C4D :(

The PR3 is complete so the OTOY team knows all the details and compatibility possibilities. I can now ask about most crucial thing - will my Macs run Octane X?

I have two Macs:
- MBP 18 with Pro 555X - I assume that it is capable, coz it is a fairly new card.
- iMac late 2014 with R9 M290X - is there a chance to see X on it?

I don't have huge expectations for that last one in terms of speed, but I'd like to know if it's going to run the X. Also - are you going to release Octane X the same day Big Sur is released?

Just double checked, that test was with standard material, and I replaced with Octane diffuse material, and exact the same result unfortunately, but thank you for suggestion.

@juliangwan: you can already use your Mac if you install Catalina 10.15.7, even on an external hdd/sdd. Since your GPU is a Navi model, you don’t need to wait for Big Sur.

@Ahr0n: your MBP 18 with Pro 555X will be supported in Big Sur, since 55X is a Polaris model.
Your iMac late 2014 with R9 M290X will not be supported, unless you add a supported GPU via Thunderbolt, but please consider that in OctaneX the AI Denoiser is performed via CPU, not GPU, and you should need a CPU from 2015 or newer for performing AI Denoiser with OctaneX.
Older CPUs do not have the necessary instructions for AI Denoiser.

@kinedix: please use Octane materials with Octane node only inside, when working with Baking Camera.

Thanks Beppe. Should I upgrade to Big Sur when it'll be released or I can stay on Catalina to use Octane X? There are some problems with eGPUs on Big Sur, hope Apple will fix them.

Is there a release timeline for PR3? Will it require Big Sur or can it also run on Catalina?

While we're all excited about Big Sur, there are apps which simply won't run on it at launch, which makes upgrading to it on day one challenging for many of us. Plus, if Catalina is any indication, it will likely be quite buggy for the first few versions.
