Hi,
I followed the help doc to get my particles to have a color based on Display Color. (AGE, SPEED, ETC. DO NOT WORK). I'd really like Age, speed, and other color modes to work as well on my particles.
But that note aside, I'd really like to color my trails to be the same color as the color of the particle they're the trail of. I have been trying to find the answer to this for nearly two weeks now, but I can't seem to get it to work! Any help would be appreciated.
On top of that, how would I achieve this same effect with xpGenerator? (object with a trail). It seems xpGenerator may have better luck from what I've read.
I'm on c4d R21, octane enterprise, OctaneRender-for-C4D-2020.1.4_win.
Thank you!

Hi,
since Trails are splines, not particles, you need to have a different approach, and use an Octane Gradient node, with a W Coordinate node, or a Saw-wave Planar mode, changing the Projection of the Saw-wave from MashUV, to XYZ to UVW/Planar projection mode, and correct Rotation, Scale, and Position, to match the trials dimensions: ciao Beppe
