Any idea what might be causing these black "artifacts"? I am using Blender 2.83 with Octane.
I just apply the transparent texture to the Opacity in an Universal Material node.

please check the scale of your project, probably it is off.
You should be able to correct the issue by changing the Ray Epsilon value in Kernel settings, that defines the precision of the rays.
