OctaneRender Prime "in use"

This says Octane is not active on my PC "DESKTOP-F8LFPGF":

but then I hit Activate and get a message that says it is already active on "DESKTOP-F8LFPGF" and I can't start it.

This happened a few times already and I have used up all but the last web unlock (after which it worked). How can I prevent this from happening? Could it happen because I access the PC with Remote Desktop sometimes?

Thanks for any hints.

That normally happens after a Windows update or an hardware change.
If you're low on unlocks, please contact the helpdesk asking for a reset.

Might well have been the 1904 update, and then a BIOS update after that. Thanks!
