I have a question on the animation, I've tried to search on the forum yet not find any information,
if the animated items are made in a way of point cache(e.g. trees blowing by the wind), is there a way to export them to orbix?
I tried but I can only get still one.
is there anyway to get them translated into animated abc etc, or it is just impossible?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Paride, for your respond,
but confusingly, it seems I did exactly as you mentioned, but I only get still orbx: Probably I am missing anything?
Thanks again.

I did this in 3dsmax 2018,the timeline donot appear, then I turn to 3dsmax 2020 the timeline appears, both are with the latest octane plugin,
the problem might comes from a bug from 3dsmax 2018.
but there is still issues when I export from 2020, though there is a timeline, it is still not an animation, there is 25 frames but actually all the same not moving at all

Hi jimho, jimho wrote:there is no frames stored in the abc file.
it works with 3dsmax 2021, but you're right some issue exporting to .orbx.
I will investigate about.

I tried 2021, it appears same as 2018,no timeline,no frames appears in the abc,
I almost have everything default, guess we are using the same file,is there any setup you have changed?

It could be that you didn't set the animated objects as Movable Proxy (Octane object properties)
Here is the steps I did:
-open Octane User settings from the Octane menu; Preset menu : choose Reset default settings
-open AM171_005_anim_Vray.max
-set Octane as renderer
-set AM171_005 as movable proxy
-change viewport from Orthographic to Perspective
-Render setup, Tools tab, Octane export Rollup:
enable Animation, set End frame to 50
Export
This creates an orbx file of ~30.5 MB
Note that without setting AM171_005 as movable proxy, the animation will not be exported, and the resulting orbx file is ~ 17.2 MB
I hope that helps,
