These game engine optimized techniques are great. I think every renderer should have these features.
Parallax displacement is really cool and could replace regular displacement for a lot of use cases. I remember when I needed to use Vred for opengl an car presentation. I was really impressed how it could make a bevelled cylinder look like a complex tire tread using parallax displacement shading and a tread shader from the material library......it felt like cheating
The coolest thing is that you could then render that shader using the raytracing module of the software.
