Hi,
I'm using Octane for Maya 4 and 2020.
I have a question regarding render layers (octaneRenderLayer).
When I render with `render layers` in Octane for Maya, Those rendered layers images outputs to folders named `layer_1`, `layer_2` etc.
Can Those folders be renamed to custom names or even disregarded completely?

No, you can not rename them.
The number in these "layer_N" names corresponds to Octane's layer number, which is logical.
Eliminating these folders completely would blow up the output files' names readability, forcing them to differ from requested naming-template and have the same layer-number chunk as part of output file-names (because you can't have same-named files in the same directory).
Just use some simple post-render script to copy all the output files to whatever special places you like...
