Hi,
I'm looking for ways to do large oceans in cinema4d & octane
And i've stumpled upon this amazing OSL ocean shader by TDM
https://www.shadertoy.com/view/Ms2SD1
Is there anyway to use this code in the octane OSL texture, i'm only getting compile errors when im trying to copy in the code, or using parts of it.
I'm no coder so i'm pretty stuck.
OSL ocean vertex displacement?

I'd also be interested in the ocean osl shader!

There is an old implementation of Houdini Ocean Toolkit originally created for Softimage/Maya by Amaan Akram who is now Head of CG at the Mill.

The cool thing about this version of H.O.T is that it is included as a vector displacement shader. You can also layer the effect with deformers.
It was been ported to C4D a while back. The plugin was recued from the archives by Kent Barber (author behind plugins4d.com) to be made compatible with newer versions of C4D.

I tried to get the vector displacement shader to work with Octane displacement but failed to get the outcome I was looking for. Since AAOcean suite is open source, perhaps someone knows how to get it to work with Octane or better yet port to OSL somehow?
There is also XP Particles version of HOT which has a lot of potential when combined with the New FLIP and APIC Solvers. I'm also quietly hoping that LiqigenFX, when it is unveiled, will have some workflows to create oceans that play nice with Octane.
