I have been waiting on Octane X and am so excited to use it. I just bought a Mac Pro, 16 core, 96gb ram, Radeon Pro Vega II, and a After Burner because I think that is going to be a game-changer soon.

I know you guys had RC1 in the closed wild this weekend and said if all goes well over the weekend, we could here a release date or at least see a public beta this week. Are we still on track for either or both of those things??

I cannot explain how excited I am to finally get my hands on a fast renderer for both my Mac Pro (that I bought admittedly because you and redshift said you were supporting it) and my 2019 iMac and iMac Pro. this is going

to be a game changer beyond what you guys might even understand. The amount of business I've had to turn down because render hours would outweigh client numbers and cost has been painful. Beyond excited to hear some

good news and throw my money at you brother!
Me too. Oh my this is the story of my life. Although I am learning to use this in a professional sense I have had to forgo taking on clients. Just bought the Mac Pro so I am getting better results now. Cannot wait.

Hi, very nice, to see, that Octane goes further with Mac. I dit a some work with octane on my MacPro 5,1 with two 1080Ti in it. But i stuck with Sierra for this. Now i need to switch to metal-amd, because i need current OS and apps. For my Resolve work i bought also a Cubix-Xpander which let me add a lot of GPUs, which could also push Octane X.
My question is, if there will be an upgrade or crossgrade option for me, with a normal cuda-license to the Octane X? That i would appreciate, because i will not have any cuda cards soon.

Thanks and all the best,
Jan

Apple's been tipping their hand about how they'd be handling graphics processing on ARM macs, and recently they made it public they would be releasing Metal Developer Tools for Windows. So on future macs, it looks like there won't be requiring graphics cards inside macs at all.

I'll be interested to see how this ultimately gets translated to the future ARM-based Mac Pro systems - I imagine the Afterburner card is a nod in that direction. This might be a few years away, but it will be fascinating to watch Apple start with laptops and work their way into higher end systems - possibly revolutionizing performance along the way.

I have to think OTOY has seen evidence of where Apple's going - thus making this investment in resources and long delays worthwhile.

I have a 2018 Macbook Pro with a 'Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB' GPU. Would it be correct to assume this isn't compatible with Octane X?

No - 5XX cards don’t work. Apple metal drives for octane X only work on Vega and later.

Have you finally tested with the: Radeon Pro W5700X MPX Module??.. I have a Mac Pro 2019 but the default card wont work, so I want to make sure that by adding the W5700X I can see something rendering on the preview window.
Thanks in Advance.
