Hi Goldorak, it was someone on the Mac Pro upgrade facebook group. I have been arguing with him about Octane X compatibility. Thanks for confirming that it will run on other macs. I'm hoping that I can get it running on a 5.1 Mac Pro and a Radeon VII running Catalina with the dosdude patch.
Now WWDC is up and running, what are we waiting for? Are we waiting for a Metal session to start or something? We all know Octane X is coming, it's not a secret – how many more days before news on this? I've tried being patient but this endless grind is wearing thin. It's now 384 days since the first announcement!

Yeah it’d be awesome to see Octane presented at WWDC this week! Something to be very proud of for the team
I’ve been following this closely for the past year and have felt the heartache as much as anyone (second only to those who bought the new MacPro). However it’s sad to see the aggressive comments thrown at the Otoy team when I’m sure a lot of the delays and limited public facing content are out of their control. NDA’s are serious and very constraining. I can also appreciate their want to release it when it’s ready and not rush to hit a target date (If they even could - there’s a whole other company holding most of the cards). This whole project is complicated as Octane is a much more complex program now than when it was originally developed, and it deserves to be done right the first time, set a sturdy foundation to grow on.

Either way I bet there's some contract where Apple get's to be the first to hold a demo of something like this leading to more delaying of info from Otoy through no fault of their own.
