Is it possible to envelope a clip map with LW 2019 and Octane v4? The attached image shows it working fine in native VPR with a slope on the V offset but I can't figure out how to do the same in Octane. Any ideas gratefully received!

Hi,

The "Clip" input using LightWave nodes is not going to work at all. You need to use the Octane nodes linked to the Octane material opacity input. With this workflow, you should be able to animate the parameters, but remember to enable the "Mat.Upd" option in the IPR to let the materials update if you move the timeline. For the final rendering in scene update mode, you also need to enable the Update Materials option in the render target root node options panel.

Hope it helps,

Thanks Juanjo,

My friend Julian finally came up with a solution that proved to be remarkably simple. He simply increased the scale of the clip map. Image attached. Thanks for your help re the Update materials etc.
