Hi

I have been baking a scene for a few minutes or a bit more than an hour, don't know exactly because I was away for a break. When I came back octane had close, I guess it was because of a crash.

I wanted to submit the hover challenge with octane renderer, and now I guess I have to use yafaray again because its more stable at the moment :-(

Or does anybody have a faster more stable engine than I have and would it be possible that some renders my scene with that engine ?

Kind regards
Alain

Hi Alain. It's a beautiful picture! Most of the errors in Octan happens when you are working with overlapping material. I've never had problems as I left the image to count for a long time. First question: did you overclock the processor or graphics card?

Thank you FamilyGuy.

No I didn't overlclock anything.

What do you mean with "overlapping materials" ? you mean "overlapping geometry" ?
If yes, I don't know, maybe :|

I renderings with yafaray now... but it takes so long in high resolution :( At the moment it seems that I can't finish to pictures until tomorrow... hopefully I find another solution... I use yafaray beta... and this will not work for a renderfarm... dont know if I can turn the scene back to yafaray 0.1.1 stable...

If your scene doesn't rely on specific stuff from the beta (IES lights, blend material...) then you could. You would probably have to re-check materials (bump strength etc.) but that's about it.
