Hey Guys,

I always have a problem cleaning those areas that I marked in the image. I wanted some technical tips on how to best configure the engine.

I was using Diffuse material with black body emission.

Could you use an Octane sphere light, make sure it's vectron.

On interior images I'm always having to come up with cheats to get the light in there and get rid of the noise. More for animations than still images though.

I reckon the size of the light makes a massive difference to the noise level.
Try adding a larger light and turning off it's visibility. Won't be totally accurate but it should clear up the noise faster.

Have you got Octane vecton lights covering the skylight and door openings? Quite low power but a better way of getting light in than 'portals' which I've never found useful. Again, it's not technically accurate but just another required cheat to get rid of noise.

Is the Octane denoiser not helping though?

Hi,
better to use, where you can, Octane vectron geo.
As you can see in the screenshot it helps to clean the noise.
Said that you could increase the light sample where you need.

Is octane vectron geo the same thing as an octane light with the vecton box ticked?

Hi Rik,
yes it is, but I don't know if it works using pre-existent OctaneLight, I have not an old file to test that; I will ask to developers.
