I've been using C4D (S22) and Octane fine for months, even as recent as this morning. Suddenly tonight, I go to boot into C4D to do some work and I get the sign-in screen for Octane. I try to sign in but it keeps erroring out with this...

But the Standalone is activated and online.

I've tried signing out of the standalone and back in but I keep getting met with this error on my way into C4D. Using the Account-Subscriptions option warns you so much about using it, I have decided to ask how to fix this here first.

Why is the plugin having this problem all of a sudden?

Are you having a subscription or regular type of license? Did you install the plugin recently?

It's an Enterprise subscription. Installed 2020.1-R5 a couple days ago to test. It's been working fine.

What confuses me is why the standalone is fine and activated, but suddenly the plugin is not working.

**Well late night here and I have to get up at 5am. So I'll check again in the morning. Thanks for looking at this Ahmet.**

Hi,
the error message shows that the c4doctane plugin license only is already activated, so cannot be reactivate another time.

The problem you are having could be caused by an issue during deactivation, due to a crash, or an issue with internet connection.
For example, if the IP address is changed, while the licenses were active, they have not been deactivated after exit from Octane, and are still seen as active, waiting for the old IP address to be back online.

You need to visit your personal Octanelive page, and deactivate the currently active license listed in red, by pressing the red Unlock button beside Standalone and/or plugin, in your case only the plugin license:
[for Commercial licenses](https://render.otoy.com/account/octanelive.php)
[for Subscription licenses](https://render.otoy.com/account/subscriptions.php)

Please note that the web counter will be rest to maximum after a certain period of time, if the unlock button will not be used during that time.

ciao Beppe

Beppe,

Thank you. That fixed it.

Yes, I had a router that was not letting the rest of my family see me. Yesterday, I bridged the connection and it assigned me a proper IP so everything was working on the local network.

Didn't realize just changing IP addresses would screw up the Octane plugin. Wish it was as robust as the standalone since that still worked.

Anyhow, I almost never do that kind of switching around and will be sure to keep things the way they are now.

Again, thank you and Ahmet for your help.

Brian
