I just tested the texture compression today and it is great. It makes my textures about 8 times smaller. I am talking about the texture import type in the texture node. I set it to "RGB -> 4bit(BC1)(No alpha)".
Unfortunately octane is crashing very very often, so i can not really use it. I attached the octane log. I am running the latest studio drivers.

Unfortunately your log has nothing useful. Put this file to Cinema4D folder and run with it. It will make all process slower but will record log output to a "octane_log.txt" file. As soon as you have a crash store this file to a different location. And send us the scene and this file.

Hi will you give some love your post?
disable "texture caching" in settings and clear your "texCache" also. Also let it record "octane_log.txt"
