possible memory leak/bug with rounded edges

On Mac 10.13.6... various versions combinations of octane/c4d

For a while now i've had a bit of an issue with rounded edges.

If i enable it on a complicated 3d model.. i get a very noticeable slow down in viewport lag/perfomance.. while interacting with live viewer.. ( fine if live viewer paused).

That'd be understandable i guess as its calculating all the edges i guess.. However.. if I then turn the rounding off in the material the slow viewport performance continues.. ...

even if i then create a new scene with simple cube and sun.. i get slow viewport performance.. like considerable slow 1-5 fps type slow..

only fix is to quit C4D.. then go back in.. don't need to reset computer.. just c4d.

Any thoughts on this problem and if other people have had the same issues? ( reproducible... on 2019 and 2020.. in c4d r19 - r22)

Okay finally found some time to put a video together illustrating the problem..

as well as a file that creates it..


in the video i first show normal viewport speed with live viewer running.. just on a cube and sun..
nice and fast
then jump to the complex scene.. also fast.. until i turn on rounded edges..

then jump back to cube scene its now super slow... if i quit cinema and open up again cube will be fast again..

I have tried your scene, but I have no issues with Rounded Edges, everything is super smooth, even increrasing the settings
