i just upgraded from the old octane pre subscription version, i believe it was version 4.05 R7
Now i am using Octane standalone 2020.1 and the plugin is 2020.1 R2. I have latest nvidia drivers, and c4d r20.059
Long story short cannot render the old projects unless i install the old octane version. When i use octane 2020 or 2019 on the old scene it just crash when rendering. Is this normal?
I thought i could render old scenes with new versions of octane.
thanks

There can be many different reasons. It's not possible without checking your scene.
Start with what kind of crashes you talk about!

hi aoktar.
i cannot send the scene because it contains sensible models.
basically when i render, any kind of render (render to picture viewer, render to viewer, ecc) i get the plugin error white box, it says that octane has crashed.
i noticed that if i delete all materials it doesnt crash.

I have the exact same issue
Find the reason of crash if you can't give better info

Can you create a scene in v4 that you can post, with nothing proprietary, that crashes 2020? That would really help to nail down the issue. Or is this problem limited to a specific scene only?
