Installation problems

I'm having a hard time trying to install the octane 2020 (latest build) demo with c4d r21/20.

Tried:
- the exact installation instruction from Otoy (plugin folder in the app root, deleting no needed octane demo versions)
- the exact installation instruction from Otoy (plugin folder in the app root, but adding this folder as a custom folder in the c4d prefs)
- placing the demo into my custom plugin folder, where all my other (well loading) plugins are and deleting the unneeded version of the octane demo.

I have no clue what is going on, is this a demo problem, I'm fine purchasing but I'm wondering if this will happen with a paid version of octane too.

Fixed, was an update problem with c4d.
