With soon to be expired Prime. How do you guys get perpetual subscription?? Is it free?

What is the correct subscription for the hobbyists that play with them?
I never heard about a "Prime" version? What is that?

There was talk about a free tier, I don't know if that has happened yet?
I guess you need a "Studio Subscription", although it's restricted to 2 GPUs. You find it under "Rent".
If you want to use more GPUs or network render, you need the "Enterprise Subscription".

And you have to buy a perpetual license. It's the "Enterprise Box License" under "Buy".
You pay for 12 months of maintenance and after that you own v2020. If you then decide not to subscribe any longer you can't use 2021 and so on, but the 2020 is yours.

Read it again, my answer is completely correct.
It's correct for you; but it's not, correct.

Can someone at OToy please rephrase or explain how it works for upgrading; not in a mystic mysterious speak.

As I told you - the problem is in your mind, the answers are correct.

As Goldorak (Otoy) told you a long time ago: there is no "2019.1" license. Still, you insist you have one.
And because you decided to go the jerk route instead of the "Thanks for your help, but I don't understand the following ..." route I don't see a reason to explain it any further.

Godd luck with your attitude.

It doesn't matter, whether I used the term 2019.1 or version 4. The fact still remains, and by throwing my way that my attitude is the problem when you clearly, cannot explain things very efficiently, that's all there is too say; rather then taking it on the chin and re-phrasing what you said, you decided to let your ego get in the way.

Therefore, I'd prefer if someone from OToy can inject their solid, clear explanation on how the upgrade will work for existing 2019.1 / v4 users to 2020, thank you.

Hi Creative_Sheep,
if you are using v2019.1, it should mean that you have already purchased the Annual Extension the past year.
The old Annnual Extension did not include a perpetual upgrade of v4 license, so at the end of Annual Extension, it goes back to v4.

This year, there are paths to upgrade v4 licenses to v2020 perpetual, or to pay less, and stay with v4, at the end of this Annual Extension.

Please follow this link for perpetual upgrade, based on your specific licenses:
https://render.otoy.com/shop/upgrade.php

Or purchase directly the Annual Extension for one or two years, if you don't care to go back to v4, at the end of the Annual Extension:
https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-ren ... e/#upgrade

If something is still not clear, please write to [email protected] sharing your Otoy Username, thanks.

ciao Beppe

Hi,
you can find the Free Tier versions (limited to max 1x GPU) here:
https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-render/demo/
Blender, DAZ, Unity and Unreal are currently supported.

Hello community, I read almost everything, but still need help. I have v4 license and can use it forever. Now-I would take the RTX advantage and upgrade to new version. But now I have 2019 running and this seems to me not the latest version because I have to pay 350 more to get 2020? Why??

Now with 2019 (no render improvements to me) I have a counter with370days left, what does this mean?

I am really struggling with new licensing at otoy I am sorry

Hi,

RTX support is part to the new features added in v2020.1.
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=73237

At the moment, version 2020.1 is in Beta Release Candidate stage.
The current stable version is 2019.1.5.
We don’t add test versions on the Download server, only stable versions. Test versions can be download only from Otoy forum:
Here is the direct link to the latest 2020.1-RC4 Standalone version:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=74515
You can find the corresponding version for each plugin in their Release section, starting from here:

Happy GPU Rendering

Hi,
v2020 is going to arrive very soon, and from what you have written, you should be already ok.
I’m going to write you via Private Message, to be able to see your licenses, and answer more precisely.

ciao Beppe
