Sun position navigation via rotate gizmo?
It is possible using ball gizmo:
CPU – i9 13900KF, 128GB RAM, GPU – RTX 4090
System – Windows 11

Add a 2D or 3D transform node to your HDRI Image Tex node. The X and Y translation fields will rotate the HDRI in the x or y direction.
Linux Mint 21.3 x64 | Nvidia GTX 980 4GB (displays) RTX 2070 8GB| Intel I7 5820K 3.8 Ghz | 32Gb Memory | Nvidia Driver 535.171
In cinema I can use a transform gizmo in the viewport to adjust the sun position. Trying to get blender to match the ease of cinema 4d as much as possible for speed. If I had to go into the node editor is a path I would only use for maybe more precision. I should have added I wanted a transform gizmo controlling the direction (rotation) in the ‘viewport’ in my first post.

It will rotate the HDRI, not the Daylight sun.grimm wrote:Add a 2D or 3D transform node to your HDRI Image Tex node. The X and Y translation fields will rotate the HDRI in the x or y direction.
Next build will offer an Object Transformation node that right now is not compatible with the Sun Direction input. Being able to control the Sun direction using an object or a light in the scene is a feature I've asked for already, even if not a priority right now.
did anyone find the solution? I would like to control the sun in the viewport like blender sun
is this already possible?linograndiotoy wrote:Being able to control the Sun direction using an object or a light in the scene is a feature I've asked for already, even if not a priority right now.grimm wrote:Add a 2D or 3D transform node to your HDRI Image Tex node.
