I'm wondering if anyone knows a workaround to stop the displacement node from tiling an image texture.

i was so glad to find this solution for moving around an image on the surface of a model using a null object:
http://www.aoktar.com/octane/OCTANE%20H ... tures.html

I'm referring to the part of the page that says "TEXTURE PROJECTION USING EXTERNAL TRANSFORM"
If I choose a "border mode" of white or black in the image texture node I can stop the image from tiling. all looks good when setting this up in the diffuse channel. but as soon as I pipe the black and white texture image into the displacement channel it makes the image tile.

how do I stop the tiling in displacements but keep the scale, rotate, position controls for the image?

thanks for any help you can give

Hi,
the solution is to use the new Vector Displacement, in Height mode, and correctly set the Border mode in the ImageTexture node:
