It would be amazing to get even the test build for 10.15.4!! I don't mind the missing features for a few weeks as long as I can start testing. I'd love to play around with the standalone and the blender plugin.

I'd love to test, even with deactivated osl! my rx5700 needs some action :).

Unleash the beast! Given that there will probably be other bugs beside the OSL stuff, so we may as well make start on testing it.

I don't fully understand the OSL stuff – so in C4D, for example, will we have NO textures, or just a limited array? (Having looked at it, I don't think it would make any difference to me as I don't use OSL shaders).

From the screenshot comparison, you can see that some objects have textures, like the highway sign. I think they're saying that OSL shaders don't work and that generated textures (like noise) don't work either. But I guess we'll find out if they ship a preview.

well lets not get to excited, 8 months ago they said it would be out before the end of the year. Announcement track-record is not OTOY's strong suite.

You have support for image textures in the 10.15.4 non-osl public build we would use for an early beta, but procedural texture/osl nodes.

What is blocked on the public 10.15.4 macOS (but working on internal 10.15.4 builds here, being addressed in 10.15.5 soon we hope) is osl shader compiling, which depends on the latest Metal api support and drivers from AMD and Intel, and that isn’t in the 10.15.4 public builds. Since 3.08c all texture nodes in octane that are procedural (including color correction node and noises) are all osl behind the scenes, same with new features vectron and universal camera, so those are replaced by a checkerboard texture on the non-osl test builds.

If we are Apple Dev’s and can use 10.15.5 that is now available. can you guys put out a build for .4 and .5?
That way at least those of us on .5 can start giving feedback with a more complete set of features? - then once .5

Just have 2 installers is all.

Just a thought.

Yes - if we do a closed beta it would be under NDA to test both the 10.15.4 version and any pre-release/non-public 10.15.5 versions with the OSL features working for testers.

Awesome - if possible please add me to the closed beta list i can access .4 and .5 since as an apple dev I should be able to test both
