Hi all,

I use Octane 4.05 with lightwave 2019.1.5.

I try to render 8 different vdb created with gas solver in the same scene. So I have 8 nulls with octane volumetrics applied in this scene.
Domain boxes of each gas solver used to create those vdb overlap each other.
I use PathTracing kernel (PMC take too much time on this scene, so I can't use it). Max diffuse and glossy depht are set at maximum (32). I even tried to enter 64, just in case it would be relevant.

Problem is I can only render up to 4 volumetrics (no matter which one I choose, it is ok). Up to 4 render fine.
If I add one more, clipping happens on some parts, along original gas solver domain boxes.

Is there a limitation of 4 volumetrics in the same scene ?
Is there a way to work around this issue ? (I don't talk about compositing after rendering, but rendering all 8 volumetrics in the same scene).
Does the same issue occurs in more recent octane releases ?

Thanx for any answer. This is a real production problem.

Yes, I think that at least Octane 4.05 can't render more than 4 overlapped volumes at the same time. I'm not sure if this limitation is still there in Octane 2019/2020, probably yes.

Thanks,

If you don't have access to the latest Octane version, feel free to send me the scene. I can try to render it here. You could also use the Octane 2019.1 demo version to check it out.

Thanks,

Thanks Juanjgon,

This is what I thought.
And no hidden button to bypass this limit. Sniff.

I will try with demo version and tell you if this changed or not.
If it does not, this will be a feature request I hope you will support.
