I'm rendering 500 passes and it takes 3 minutes to render the scene on a GTX 1070. This seems slow to me. Is it expected?
what is more, at 500 passes the render is still nowhere near final quality. I would expect it needs to get up to around 1500 passes which would take ages.
I have another GTX 1070 ready to use in conjunction, but the demo wont let me try out the speeds that I will get using both together.
I have looked for ways to speed the render up but nothing seems to make any difference.
Anyone help?

As a user of Octane outside of Unity I thought the same thing, and thought that maybe it was Unity's interface slowing things down or something.
So I exported the scene as an ORBX to render it in Octane Standalone, and.... it took the same amount of time!
I guess it's just a slow scene to render, or maybe Unity's materials don't convert to Octane materials super well. I tried adjusting kernel settings as well to match defaults, but that yielded no improvement.
Anyway, hope that helps
