Slave node question

Does the slave node need to be the exact same version as the master machine? I was going to update to 2019.1.5 R2 on my main machine but I see that the slave node version is still only 2019.1.5.

Yes, the Octane Render version needs to be the same, but that's different from the plugin version. The R2 is for the plugin, not the render engine. Slave machines do not need plugins to run as render slaves, they just need Octane Render and the Slave daemon.

"R2" word is plugin versioning, first number's equality is enough. I point the standalone links in every release's post.

Got it. I did go ahead and install R2 on my master and everything is working as it should. 8-)
