Hi,

I'm struggling with repeatable and constant crashes in C4D R20 right now. I've tried Octane 2019.5 and below, along with a variety of NVIDIA studio drivers going all the way back to 430.86. I've even tried the latest Game Ready driver, out of desperation.
C4D crashes when changing Octane settings or starting a render or the Live Viewer.

Has anyone had anything similar?

The bug report ends with:

This is last commands from crash. It means that happens on the renderer. Is it belong to a specific scene or common issue?

Thanks for looking into this. It's happens on a lot of scenes from this project. They were created with v4 Octane, if that makes a difference?

It will crash even when changing some render settings, or activating the live viewer. The files seem to be rendering fine on another workstation, and as far as I know, there have been no updates to this workstation (we don't allow auto-updates on these machines).

It's strange as the scenes were fine last week?

Thanks again

Update: I found a duplicate copy Octane standalone 2019.4 so removed it and reverted back to 4.05. The render is now working!
I'm assuming the clue was "duplicate definition"?

Either way, despite all the uninstalls and countless drivers, I'd obviously missed that I had two versions of standalone installed.

This might not have been the original cause, but it's working so far. Once the render is complete, I'll move back up to 2019.5 and report back any issues.

Thanks

OK, all was well with 4.05 and I thought it was stable, but moving back to 2019.5 results in the same problem
I've attached the latest bugreport if it helps? (I'm still on C4D R20)

Just to note, this is a fresh project too ,not the one that was causing issues in my last post. I'm going to downgrade to 4.05 again and see if I can finish this project.

Thanks

I'm afraid this issue is getting worse and I'm struggling to find a solution. I'm not unable to run C4D for longer than 10 mins before getting a crash.
I'm mainly working with materials in the node editor and the live viewer when the crashes happen. I've attached the bugreport if it helps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm working on a client project
Thanks

Edit: For compatibility, I'm still on Octane 4.05 and tried various Nvidia drivers. The most stable was 442.19
