How can Otoy estimates the today's driver problems a few years before?
Use the driver from the release times of V3
Octane For Cinema 4D developer / 3d generalist

3930k / 16gb / 780ti + 1070/1080 / psu 1600w / numerous hw

You need to downgrade to 417.71 Nvidia driver with v3.08 or previous versions, thanks to Nvidia.
Note that upgrade from v3 to v4 is free, and v4.05-R7 works perfectly with latest Studio Nvidia driver.
