Hi, I've been an octane user for a long time but I've always used the standalone and the c4d plugin. Recently I started tinkering with Blender Octane edition and I tried to get some thin film metal to behave as they do in the other versions, but whatever I do they always look flat and odd, in some ways. These two scenes are essentially identical, but you can see the difference. They both use pathtracing and I've tried fixing gamma levels, but no results so far. Is there anything very obvious I'm missing? Thanks!

If I keep the gamma and power levels on standard levels I get something like this, very washed out. Any suggestion is very welcome

Have you switched your blender-color setup to the appropriate settings for Octane?

I set it to none as you said, and at first that seemed to work, but then I used an HDRI environment picture and it looked odd again. I then used these settings in the image texture, and everything seems to work as intended. Posting for anyone else who might need this in the future. Thanks everyone!

As a general rule, you always need to set the gamma to 1 for most HDRIs.
