Octane for Unreal Engine 0.29
Changes:
  • Upgraded to 2019.1.5
Fixes:
  • Fixed: Octane Sequencer now correctly updates the camera again.
  • Fixed: spotlight brightness now matches unreal more closely.

Good to hear! :)

It means this build uses Octane 2019.1.5 instead of 2019.1.4.
You can see the changelist here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=73490
It is mostly bug fixes and optimizations. No new features.

Hi Chris , 2 questions :

1. Will it be possible in future versions of "Unreal Octane" to render "Alembic Caches (Experimental)" ?
I need it to render Alembic animated Marvelous Designer clothes.

2. When does Octane 2020 with RTX support will come for Unreal ?

1. Yes, this is in the planning, however we are working on other features atm.
2. We are looking into releasing a 2020 experimental build soon.

I'd like to add my vote for this feature!!!

I have a project at the moment I'd really like to use Octane in Unreal for (currently being done in Houdini), but it is dependent on alembic geometry cache support!

Geometry cache support has been added in the latest build :)
