Hi;

I downloaded Octane and am trying it out atm, but one thing that bothered me right from the very beginning was that the render viewport navigation method has been badly designed in Octane where nowadays almost all newly emerging software are keen on supporting the Maya style navigation ((ALT+)LMB for orbit, (ALT+)MMB for panning and (ALT+)RMB for zoom) whereas in Octane, panning and zooming functions are quite the opposite of what should be (Either with the ALT combination or without) And talking about "should-be"s, I couldn't see a "Preferences" menu entry in the GUI where it would be possible to adjust and customize the specifics of this very function. When all software that we use in our studio support the very same style of navigation (SI, Maya, Mudbox, Fusion etc.) why should we have to readjust the most basic function in a 3DCC app every time we switch to using it?

Hi.

The demo is old and outdated. In the current licensed version you can adjust your navigation keys (mouse buttons) and toggles (Alt, Ctrl...) in the preferences panel.

Hmm, that's good news... Any word on when the demo will be updated with these feature improvements?

Thanx

In a few weeks (~2) pre2.3 v6 beta should be out, which should also be the candidate for the demo version update.

Here you can download the current version manual, if you want to skim through the features currently present
