hmm weird, must be something specific in your system/setup then 'coz i just opened another old scene (made in octane 4.05) and as you can see it works fine in 2020.1.0.1 (XB2)

Error log reports:

00:09:47 (0587.68) * OCTANE API MSG: CUDA error 700 on device 1: an illegal memory access was encountered
00:09:47 (0587.68) * OCTANE API MSG: -> failed to load symbol data to the device(kernel data)
00:09:47 (0587.68) * OCTANE API MSG: device 1: path tracing kernel failed
Are you sure that you are not mixing Octane builds in your system? I'm talking about the Octane.dll and Octane.dat files. Can you please check the plugin and Octane .dll versions in the plugin "About" window? ... In any case, could be great to know if Octane can work fine on your system checking if Octane 2020.1 XB2 Standalone works fine. In this case, the problem is on the LightWave plugin installation side for sure.

Thanks,

Hi Juanjo-

Is there any plan to have the Lightwave plugin include these OSL options like in the C4D plugin? They look VERY handy:)

And Happy 2020!!

Hello Juanjo
I get an instant crash on the render slave as soon as it starts rendering :

The master sends the scene, the slave deamon crashes and restarts, and so on ...

Finally got it working but of course there are problems, volume node in environment is broken, regardless of settings it either has no effect at all or produces a completely black render.

Hi Juanjo.

Is there any possibility that the Region limit of this window will work with Denoiser?

Without this I am always required to render the whole frame or all scene in an animation.

Thanks.

Yes, sorry. There is a bug in the random walk sss node lock steps feature GUI. It will be fixed in the next build.

I'm not sure if this is even possible in Octane, but in any case be aware that the AI denoising works using the whole frame as a reference ... denoising a render region will not match the initial denoising for sure, producing flickering in the animated sequences.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
