Is there a way to keep lights that are for filler/fake from showing up in specular materials? I find myself optimizing my scenes for quicker rendering by using filler lights when it's not super important to get extremly accurate reflections etc in places. Below is a sample of this.

Notice I have actual CAN lights in the entry, but only two Octane lights in the scene. These larger octane lights clean up much quicker in the scene and produce a much better filler light for me. However as you can see the reflection of this large disc is quick annoying and kills the fake :)

I've tried the tricks/settings I know of but nothing is getting rid of it. Any guidance would be appreciated.

LW 2018.0.7 and Octane 2018.1.3.0 (I know it's old and can upgrade...if this has been fixed or added It would certainly give me a reason to go through the hassle of doing so).

Thanks!

Yes I have. The actual DISC of the light is not showing up it's only in the reflection/refraction of the light. It may be acting like it should....but would be nice to have the ability to remove the reflection/refraction I guess too. Only use for fill light...

Any other thoughts?

Ah I forgot the light settings above the octane area...the affect Specular works! As I typed the previous post I was thinking there was something like that, I had just forgot or thought it changed since it wasn't in the octane settings!

I think I'm good now.

Hmm, weird. The shape opacity set to 0, enabling the unseen by camera and disabling the transparent emission should do the trick, but yes, if you disable the affect specular, it also should work.
