Looks very nice for an idea.
Just a quick hint though . The beams on the roof are not placed properly you will never see beams placed on the long side of the the house because of the higher bending moment and slack unless there are some supports in between.Well that is from the construction side.

This is right, that's quite a long span ;) There should be a set beams across shorter side. Then those could hold those you already have there if you want double top construction. There could also be few diagonal boards in those walls, even when boards span is so close. That's from construction side.

From architectural side, this is gonna stand in some american suburbs right ... ? I still have nightmares of those houses....

But from viz art, this is very nice and enjoyable concept :) I like it like that. Can't wait for timelapse.

Its difficult to tell from some of the renders, but the extended span is supported by 4x6's (actually two 2x6 tied in together) perpendicular to the length of the house, and the central section of the structure is tied into the interior walls.

My original intention was to use actual lumber spec, as they would be delivered from the lumber yard, you can see them in some of the first renders. That became too time consuming, and I'm not trying to calculate a materials bill ;) .

Not sure what you mean in regards to diagonal boards in the walls...

Every house I've built has always been studs laid off 18in, with the exception of window/door load bearing studs, which are then doubled up at least, but then again I've only built houses in the central US...

Building Code requirements for structures varies from state to state, and I imagine internationally as well.

First I heard of it, just regular Sketchup Pro...

I just looked it up, looks interesting, I'll have to check into that, thanks.

Another nightly update, I switched to v5, one side effect that I notice is that the default sun location has changed, even though it still shows the original location on the world selector...
