Sometimes, when I move models between scenes, (copy and paste or import) or open older scenes, objects will sometimes render invisible until I apply a new material, at which point I can reapply the original material, and it will render normally. (hopefully that made sense).
I haven't been able to consistently reproduce this to find out exactly what the common thread is (not sure yet if it's a specific material type, or caused by materials created in older versions, or what) but it has been a fairly reoccurring issue across multiple scenes
Working in Maya 2019.2 and Octane plugin OctaneRender for Maya 2019.1.4-15.13 [STABLE]

upon further inspection, it also happens with scenes created in this current version. For example, I opened a scene, created in the version which is a bottle on a sweep. The bottle has complex mix materials and the sweep is just a diffuse white with sublte dispalace. The complex bottle showed up fine but the sweep rendered invisible, until I make a new diffuse and applied it to the sweep, after which, I could apply the original material and it would render fine.
So far there has been nothing I can find in common between objects that do or do not have this happen

unfortunately I don't have any scene where it's reproducible every time. Having said that, it's happened on different scenes on different computers so I don't think it's just a random glitch in my one scene. If I find one where its reproducible I'll upload. The only thing I definitely know is it 100% started happening in 2019.2 and none of the . earlier versions.
