Will installing Blender Octane 2.8 interfere with my other Blender installs?

I have heard that installing Blender 2.8 through the windows installer (msi) wipes out other installs of Blender and so the advise to download it from the zip file was suggested, and that is what I did for my non-Octane version of Blender 2.8.

I have not yet installed the Octane Blender version. Will running that installer interfere with my numerous other installs of blender or can all coexist peacefully?

I'll eventually install Octane Blender 2.8x when a gig absolutely requires Octane. So when that day comes, I need to know this as well. I simply cannot have an Octane fark up my settings and installs of my production copies of Blender. Period.

From what I understand it is not an issue directly with Octane but the Windows MSI installer from Blender.org directly. See some of the below posts. No files are overwritten if using the Zip version and manually extracting the files. I don't know if this is available with he Octane Blender installer though. Also - Otoy's installer may work differently and not have this problem. But some clarification from the devs (or others who already used the Octane Blender 2.8 installer) would be welcomed.

(EDIT):
According to the last post in the last link above, the Blender installer has been re-worked for 2.81 and no longer overwrites files. But I think the Octane version is still at 2.8?

Thanks pegot. Hopefully it will be months before I even need to mess with this. So by then, all kinds of folks can be the canaries in the coal mine, so to speak. ;)

Both the "standard" Blender and the Octane dedicated build can coexist with no issues. When I install any addon on my "special" Blender version, it will be available for the standard one as well, and viceversa.
Curently I see no reason to keep the config files independent.

Thanks linograndiotoy. Can you just confirm though that running the Octane Blender installer will not overwrite any Blender 2.79 installs?

Just install it in a specific folder. Mine is Called OctaneBlender28.
Current 2.8 config will be used, and only overwritten if you save your Startup file, logically.
