hi,
i'm in a bit of a pickle. about to build a new system. what to go amd which means i can't use an nvidia card. can't mix card at this point with octane. already have a high-end radeon card. any ideas would be appreciated. anyway to have nvidia and ati in the same system?

I have an AMD Motherboard and CPU and use a GTS 250. You'll have to disable the on-board graphics card. I'm not sure about using the cards at the same time, though. I know Octane will only render with CUDA, on NVidia. Your ATI graphics card will not work for rendering, but might for display (again, I'm not sure on that part)
Anyone else?

The GPU-X does work on an AMD Mobo/CPU and can be connected to a monitor itself...

There's no reason that you cannot disable the onboard video and throw a couple of Nvidia cards. I have the previous generation (790GX) and am using two GTX 470's in it. You just cannot run SLI with an AMD chipset.
