Octane render revit plugin not showing any Materials

Hi Paul, Otoy team,

I am trying to use Octane studio revit plugin (2018.4.02.1.58) with revit 2018.3 and the materials are not showing up in the render. I can see materials in revit 'realistic' and 'raytracing' views but not in the octane viewport. Please see attached screen captures and advise.

Hi. Can you please try the latest version of the plugin from viewtopic.php?f=61&t=71092

You may need to right-click the Material tree and Reconvert All Materials From Debit.

Hi Paul,

I tried downloading and installing the latest 2020.1.2.61 Studio/ Enterprise. However I got an error (see screen capture 5). As I only have revit 2018.3, I pointed it to the 'C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2018' folder. However when I open revit, there is no Octane button on the 'Add-in' tab. I tried moving the octane.dll and other files etc, into the Revit 2018>Addins folder but no luck.

I also tried installing the Revit2018.1.0.60 Studio/ Enterprise (stable release) on a different computer to see if the materials would work. I got an error message (see screen capture4).

Please help. Note that octane standalone and octane for unity load and run flawlessly on both computers, only the revit plugin is having issues.

Hi. You cannot install the Revit 2020 version of the plugin for Revit 2018. The plugin version needs to match you Revit version.

Hi Paul,

When I try to install the OctaneRenderForRevit_2018.1.0.60, I am getting the attached error message 'System missing methord exception....' (see attached screen capture). Please help.

Hi. That error usually means that you do not have Revit 2018 SP3 installed. Can you please double check you have that service pack installed?
