Hello fellow Octaners, I was wondering what is the purpose of bringing an object to the node editor? I don't see controls to pull out parameters out of said object or things like that.

I get it now, this is incredible useful! I wanted something like this for a long time. I'm testing this with lights right now, it doesn't seem to work for some parameters I can plug a falloff to the distribution but I cannot plug stuff into the texture slot it doesn't do anything.
Is this feature still in development? I'm in v4.05 / R21 right now.
