Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new test version of OctaneRender™ for Maya® Version 2019.1
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2016.5, 2017, 2018 and 2019 64-bit on Windows, Linux and OSX operating systems.


To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 387 or higher and if you are working on Mac OS that have a CUDA driver installed that supports at least CUDA 9.1.

Changes since version 15.5:
  • Implemented the new feature: rendering the selected geometry only.
  • Implemented "None" option for RenderView selection (pick-focus/region-render) settings.
  • Implemented subsampling support in global settings.
  • Workaround for the issue with Adobe AE scripts.
  • Fixed the wrong library files installed for regular-license flavor.
KNOWN ISSUES:
  • The new up-scaling feature sometimes fails to render correctly, sometimes with GPU crashing. This is the Octane engine bug.
  • CUDA errors happen often... These are the Octane engine bugs.
  • Due to some inconsistency on the rendering engine level the builtin-scriptgraph nodes are not going to be present in the plugin. At least at this stage.

Hi Rikk,

Thank you!! We are currently working on it.
There are lots of improvements in 2019.2 engine, so far we have no idea when it will roll out.
However, we will keep posting if we have an update.

So the RTX support will be included in 2019.2 ?

Bug fund on Ambient Occlusion pass. Whenever previewing it in IPR works well but when it renders out to Multichanel EXR the pass comes out empty in PS (openin With EXR-IO). Before it was located in the RED channel but now it is just empty.

Also, I tried to use AI Upsampler 2x2, for spherical 360 camera. Render comes out with native resolution but with some artifacts in the highlights.
