Hello,
i've this situation:
Clipboard 1.jpg
area light behind glass. It is visible no matter what i do in settings. I tried both a refractive glass with thickness (physically correct) and also a fake glass with no thickness and no refraction but nothing to do.
In archviz it's extremely important to get light from unseen sources, hopefully there is a workaround ?

thanks,
Paolo

found a trick - if you set light as transparent, activate transparent emission and set Specular OFF, it will be not visible through glass.
Probably somehow Specular is tied to raytrace, so disabling it set the light free from glass influence.

Yes, this is the trick available to hide lights behind glass surfaces. The problem is that the camera rays are not this kind of rays anymore after the refraction, so the option to hide the object from the camera doesn't work.
