Cinema 4D version 2019.1-XB2-Test1 (Experimental test ver.)

I have played briefly with 2019.1 displacement and am pleased with early testing. I want to confirm that I understand correctly.
-Instead of only Texture displacement 2019.1 version also features Vertex Displacement
-Vertex displacement can work in Object space or Vector space (Vector space for multi-planar displacement, like that famous ear sample render in Jules' slide presentation)
-OSL textures can be used with the new vertex displacement
-Also new is the displacement mixer node.
-Vertex displacement depends on the polygon density of the parent object, though this can be manipulated by adding subdivision levels in the node settings.
Are there other things to be aware of? Again, this all looks really good. I know and accept that vertex displ. will often be slower. But it's a great option!

Nope. In 2019.3 release. Maybe.Felix12345 wrote:rtx support?
i really dont care about new features. being able to render QUICKER is way more relevant than any feature i can think of.
Text is a quote from another topic. Not meaning 2019 has a demo.miohn wrote:Hi Ahmet,
not my question, but I downloaded from here!

scene loading for geometry fast enough. What do you mean exactly?KeeWe wrote:Can we expect faster scene loading times in 2019? I recall this as a feature in one of Jules' talks but can't rember if it was scheduled for 2018 oder 2019.

slider ranges can be given in osl scripts. Are you talking about presets with ranges?Iceman9 wrote:I understand that OSL can create so many possibilities that it is impossible to debug for everything. But I suggest that the sliders be clamped within sensible ranges, making it less easy to enter an absurdly high or low number.
