Gradient projection mapping issue

I'm having an issue mapping a gradient to an object displaced via noise. On the native C4D materials, setting the gradient interpolation to "step" and the projection of the material to camera mapping does the trick, achieving a swirly texture that looks like mixed paint. I can't make this work on octane, not matter what combination of gradient and projection settings I try. I'm definitely missing something as the Octane gradient is a bit tricky and I'm still trying to understand it. Any ideas?
Octane's gradient has own interpolation parameter.

Would you mind shedding more light on this? At first I thought it was a projection matter rather than interpolation, as the gradient itself is a 2 color gradient with hard/step interpolation. Any idea on how to achieve the same effect on the screenshot (projection is based on depth [camera mapping])? Thanks!aoktar wrote:Octane's gradient has own interpolation parameter.
